Actors of a Global Culture

I'm juan at the expat-blog forum. Someone asked me what does "Global Culture" means? This was my answer:
It is the collection of knowledge that comes from our awareness of the fact that our own cultures don't exist in isolation anymore. Its evolution accelerated by modern technologies and social trends that have catapulted a massive number of people out of their places of origin.

I'm not sure I really understand what Global Culture is, even with that answer. What does it mean as a definition that a culture is no longer in isolation? Is it what you get when all cultures are lumped together? Patently, that doesn't work, given that many cultures hold mutually disparate cultural mores and ethics. Is it merely acceptance that all cultures are valid? That does not imply a discrete culture. What are the hallmarks of the Global Culture? Are they the same hallmarks for the vast majority of those who consider themselves part of this culture?

I've tried thinking through some responses to some of the other questions, but I think I need a better definition of what "Global Culture" really means before I can answer meaningfully.
